On the occasion of the International Women’s day 2012, UNESCO launches its latest publication on gender equality: the UNESCO World Atlas of Gender Equality in Education.
With over 120 maps, charts and tables, the UNESCO World Atlas of Gender Equality in Education enables readers to visualize the educational pathways of girls and boys in terms of access, participation and progression from pre-primary to tertiary education.
“This Atlas is a map of the world; it is also a call to action, to concentrate ever more on promoting gender equality in education as a human right and a development multiplier.” said Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO.
