European Commission’s New Campaign on Climate Action

"A world you like. With a climate you like." campaign“A world you like. With a climate you like.” is a European Commission’s new communication campaign to promote climate action and a low-carbon economy.

The campaign was launched on 8 October 2012 and is run by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA). It seeks to put practical solutions at the centre of the climate change debate and demonstrate how climate action can increase welfare and bring economic benefits to European citizens.

Across the European Union there are abundant examples of intelligent and innovative climate solutions that reduce CO2 pollution while also improving people’s quality of life. The campaign aims to showcase solutions and best practices applied by citizens, businesses and authorities in five areas: travel and transport; production and innovation; building and living; shopping and eating; and re-use and recycling.

The campaign website (soon to be available in all 23 EU languages) is designed as a platform where individuals, businesses and local groups will be able to upload, promote and discuss their low-carbon solutions and take part in a pan-European contest to find the best and most original ones.

Visit this website to see what is going on near you or to share your actions, views and solutions for turning Europe into the world’s leading climate-friendly region. You are also welcome to follow the campaign on Facebook and Twitter.
